The Cleveland Browns have decided to exercise both QB Baker Mayfield and CB Denzel Ward’s fifth year on their contracts. Long term deals are expected to be made for both 2018 NFL Draft picks.
In 2018 Mayfield was drafted #1 overall in the draft and Ward was drafted #4 over all that same draft years,
Since they both have been on team, the Browns record have been 7-8-1 (2018), 6-10 (2019), and 10-6 (2020).
Ever since he’s been in the NFL, Mayfield have recorded 11,115 passing yards, 75 touchdowns, 43 interceptions, 89.1 QB rating, and have a completion percentage of 61.9%
Ward have recorded 143 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 2 force fumbles.
With the way the 2020 season ended for the Browns, exercising both 5th year options is considered a no brainer for many and with new signees of Troy Hill and John Johnson from the LA Rams, along with Jadeveon Clowney, the Browns are expected to make a huge splash this upcoming season.
What will be the deals for both Ward and Mayfield? It is soon to be announced.
