In less than a week the Steelers have received low blows to their star players in the names of QB Ben Roethlisberger (Covid-19), Joe Haden (Foot), LG Kevin Dotson (High Ankle Sprain), OLB TJ Watt (Hip & Knee), and now start safety Minkah Fitzpatrick who has a strong possibility of being out due to testing positive for Covid-19.
This entire season, the Steelers are not able to catch a break from their star players missing playing during weeks of crucial games and has a strong possibility of that pattern continuing as they may not be without any of the players list as they all have a strong chance of missing this Sunday’s game vs. the 5-4 Los Angeles Chargers, which can determine a potential playoff spot.
Good news for Steeler fans is that Watt is expected to only miss one game (if any games missed) as both tests for his knee and hip came back negative and Roethlisberger, along with Haden status for this Sunday’s game is up in the air.
Minkah Fitzpatrick is expected to miss this game due to testing positive for Covid-19. Dotson is expected to miss this game as well and is projected to be return in multiple weeks. WR Chase Claypool who is out due to a toe injury status is up in the air due to him still being on a week to week basis according to Head Coach Mike Tomlin and Steelers reporter Brooke Pryoer.
The Steelers are currently sitting as 2nd place in the AFC North Division and 5th in the AFC Conference and plays the Chargers who 4th in their conference and 2nd in their division.
Nursing injuries and battling adversity will determine the type of football team they will be this year as they plan to go to war with the rest of the AFC conference for majority of the rest of this season.
More detailed updates on the team’s status will be given soon.
