New York City – It was announced on Wednesday by ESPN’s Senior NFL Reporter Adam Schefter via Instagram, that the New York Giants will be entertaining phone calls in regard to a potential trade of current star running back Saquon Barkley.
With that being said, it is clear as day that the team is not sold on the star running back and is looking to shop for him for potential drafts picks, but what can they get out from other teams for this potential trade?
It is clear as day that team will not be trading Barkley within their division, the NFC East in which also have teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders, but they can trade within the NFC conference or shop him to the AFC conference.
Here below is the look of teams below that can use Barkley:
Pittsburgh Steelers
With there being a lot of potential in current star running back Najee Harris, the Steelers can sure use a another running back to avoid the Rashard Mendenhall or the Le’Veon Bell days of injuries repeating themselves. The Harris and Barkley duo can sure boost that backfield in Pittsburgh, who’s still struggling to get back to ground and pound team that they once were.
The Steeler last season had the 28th rushing attack in football, regardless of that not being Harris fault. With running back Benny Snell Jr. most likely walking this offseason and running back Jaylen Samuels not being on the roster, they sure can use a running back that they know they can faith in if something was to happen to Harris or if Harris can use a break during games for one or two running plays.
Baltimore Ravens
Looking at their current free agents, the Ravens are thin at the running back position and can use Barkley in their backfield as well. The Ravens are another team that is struggling to bring them old selves back from dead as they’re trying to get back to being the Ravens that #RavensFlock once known and loved. Barkley being present in the backfield can allow them being a step closer to once becoming that team with nearly 90% of their roster returning this upcoming season from IR.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Looking ahead to this upcoming season, the Buccaneers are pretty much playing with house money as not too many people have high expectations on this team due to nearly their entire Super Bowl roster being free agents and QB Tom Brady retiring this past January. They can sure a veteran who knows his way around in the backfield incase veteran running back Leonard Fournette doesn’t return or even if does, why would it be wrong to have the due of him and Barkley in your backfield to help take pressure off of whoever will the QB for the Bucs this season.
