Announced today via social media Tom Brady has announced that he decided to not retire from football instead he will return for the 2022 season as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With Brady’s decision to return to football for at least one more season, he will now be playing in his 23rd season in NFL.
With the decision set in stone, Â why did he decide to change his mind and come out of retirement to play another year with nothing left to prove?
Brady explained in his post via Twitter
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG”
It’s clear as day that Brady feels that he has enough left to chase another Lombardi trophy as he already hold the record with the most wins and appearance as a player with winning 7 out of 10 of his Super Bowl games.
He also leads the NFL all-time list in touchdowns (624), passing yards (84,520), and passing completions (7,263).
Does Brady still have enough to win another Vince Lombardi trophy? We’ll have to wait until the beginning of the 2022 season when Brady and Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field for the third season with each other..
