Yes, the Dallas Mavericks should be in the conversation to favored to win the Western Conference and here’s why ..
It’s no secret that the Mavs does indeed have a kryptonite in the names of the Phoenix Suns who they have lost to in the regular season three times already ending their regular season series against them 0-3. Meanwhile, they are currently trailing the Suns after back to back losses, falling to 0-2 in the series within the Conference Semi Finals.
But if you look at them versus any other team against, especially this past season then you will see how and why they are indeed dark horse favorites to win the Western Conference and advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011.

By the looks of it, Dallas seems as if they have the number of the other two remaining teams in the tournament.
Yes, this young team being led by their star player Luka Donic who averagesĀ 28.4 points per game and ended the regular season being ranked 3rd in the league in points averaged, along with 5th in the league in assist with averaging 8.7 assist per game can still make some noise in these finals weeks of this season.
It’s clear they must find a way to defeat the Phoenix Suns, which is something that they have a great opportunity to do as they are hosting both games 3 and 4 of the Conference Semifinals game in Dallas.
The Mavs can begin their bounce back today as they will host the Suns tonight at 9:30pm ET in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, airing on ESPN.
