The Yankees without question are in what any will say in a bad slump but this season has been a team that has bounced back from losses. Since the MLB All-star weekend, the Yankees had a win-loss record of 7-15 in their games.
Multiple losses to the Houston Astros, Seattle Marines, St. Louis Cardinals, along with losing the last series between them and their arch rivals the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees have not been a team that many will favor anymore due to the Astros and the Dodgers being on a consistent hot streak with their wins over opponents.
Now lies the question, should the Yankees still be favored to win the MLB World Series? And the answer to the question is yes! That’s right, you’re reading right the New York Yankees should still be favored and here’s why.
The Yankees becoming the first team this season to win 70+ games was not a fluke, this team has something that the remaining American League conference outside of the Astros is missing and that’s team chemistry and consistency.
People seem to forget that they’re still competing in the toughest division in the MLB which is the AL East division which also has teams in the names of the 61-52 Toronto Blue Jays and 60-53 Tampa Bay Rays and is still leading the division with 10+ more wins.
Aaron Judge and the Yanks will not go down in the postseason without a fight and have shown that this season with averaging a franchise high of 10 walk off wins this season, along with Judge becoming the first Yankee since Babe Ruth to record six multiple home runners in a 70 game expand.
As stated before, the Yankees have been what many will say the “Bounce Back Kings” this season when it comes to playing games after bad losses and you can definitely expect them to do the same after last night’s loss the division rivals the Tampa Bay Rays.
Don’t panic just yet Yankee fans, this season just their chase for another World Series championship is far from over, bounce back is coming sooner rather than later.
